SoFi Stadium Bag Policy 2026 | Clear Bag Sizes & Bag Valet

Heading to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood for a Rams game, Chargers game, or concert? The venue runs a strict SoFi Stadium bag policy with clear-bag enforcement, and knowing the exact rules — including where the bag valet actually is — saves you from a scramble at the gate. Here’s everything you need to know about size limits, entry screening, and locker storage.

Quick Answer: SoFi Stadium Bag Policy at a Glance

SoFi Stadium requires bags to be completely clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC — no tint, hologram, print, or stickers — and limits them to 12″ × 6″ × 12″ under the official SoFi Stadium bag policy. Only a small non-clear clutch under 4.5″ × 6.5″ is exempt. Non-approved bags can be stored at one of four bag valet locations for a fee.

How We Check This Policy: At BagPolicyInfo, we pull bag rules directly from the venue’s own official policy page and cross-reference the full prohibited items list rather than relying on secondhand summaries. Where the official language is ambiguous — like whether diaper bags get a size exception — we default to the most literal reading of the source rather than assuming a more lenient rule that isn’t actually stated.

Official SoFi Stadium Bag Policy Overview

For all events at SoFi Stadium, permitted bags must be clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and no larger than 12″ × 6″ × 12″, along with one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags and small clutch bags no larger than 4.5″ × 6.5″ with or without a handle or strap. Prohibited items under the sofi stadium clear bag policy include, but aren’t limited to, purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, diaper bags, cinch bags, non-approved seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags, camera bags, or any bag larger than the permissible size. All items are subject to security screening, and admittance is at the discretion of security personnel and venue management. Non-approved bags can be stored at one of four sofi stadium bag valet locations for a nominal fee, with free storage for SoFi cardholders.

What Makes This SoFi Stadium Policy Different

SoFi Stadium’s official prohibited list is notably specific — it names diaper bags directly alongside coolers and briefcases rather than carving out the blanket diaper bag exception that many other stadiums offer. That’s a real point of difference from venues like Dodger Stadium or Citi Field, where diaper bags get their own accommodation regardless of the standard bag rules. SoFi Stadium also distinguishes itself with a genuinely distributed sofi stadium bag valet system — four locations at the SW, NW, and NE corners of the exterior perimeter (per Hollywood Park’s selective-event valet), plus free storage for SoFi cardholders — which is more generous than the flat paid-only bag check most venues offer.

Allowed Bags and SoFi Stadium Clear Bag Policy Rules

To ensure you know what complies with the sofi stadium bag policy before arriving at the gates, review this side-by-side comparison table:

Clear Bags

Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags are allowed up to 12″ × 6″ × 12″ under the sofi stadium clear bag policy. The official policy pairs this with photos illustrating the standard, and while it doesn’t spell out the “no tint or pattern” language in as much detail as some third-party guides suggest, the safest approach is a bag that’s unambiguously transparent.

Freezer Bags

A standard one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (a Ziploc or similar) is accepted as an alternative to a dedicated clear stadium bag.

Small Clutches and Wallets

Small clutch bags are allowed up to 4.5″ × 6.5″, with or without a handle or strap, and don’t need to be clear. This is the primary exception to the clear-bag rule.

Backpacks, Purses, and Crossbody Bags

Standard backpacks and purses larger than a clutch bag are listed as prohibited. A backpack would need to meet the clear-bag dimensions to be considered compliant, since the policy makes no separate backpack allowance.

Diaper, Medical, and ADA Exceptions

Diaper bags are explicitly named in the official prohibited items list, which differs from many other stadiums that grant diaper bags a blanket pass. If you need to bring one, packing within the clear-bag or clutch size limits is the safest approach. For medical supplies specifically, SoFi Stadium’s prohibited/permitted items guide includes a dedicated “Medical Supplies” category — check the event’s Know Before You Go page for current specifics before assuming a standard exception applies.

Prohibited Bags and Items Under SoFi Stadium Rules

• Oversized Purses: Purses and shoulder bags larger than a 4.5″ × 6.5″ clutch bag
• Coolers: Hard or soft-sided coolers of any size
• Briefcases & Luggage: Briefcases, luggage, and suitcases of any kind
• Non-Clear Backpacks: Standard backpacks (unless clear and within size limits)
• Waist & Camera Packs: Fanny packs, computer bags, and camera bags
• Diaper Bags: Non-clear diaper bags (unless within clutch or clear-bag size limits)
• Cinch & Non-Approved Cushions: Drawstring cinch bags and non-approved seat cushions
• Oversized Bags: Any bag larger than the permissible 12″ × 6″ × 12″ limit

How Security Screening Works at SoFi Stadium

All items are subject to security screening at SoFi Stadium, and admittance of any item is ultimately at the discretion of security personnel and venue management — even a technically compliant bag can be declined if staff determine it’s a concern. Audio and video surveillance also operates continuously throughout the venue. Since the policy explicitly allows for event-specific adjustments, checking your event’s Know Before You Go communication is the best way to know exactly what to expect that day.

Packing Strategy for Faster Entry

1. Default to a clear tote: Default to a clear 12″ × 6″ × 12″ bag or a 1-gallon clear freezer bag — both meet the standard without ambiguity.
2. Stick to a mini clutch for essentials: If you only need the basics, a small clutch under 4.5″ × 6.5″ avoids the clear-bag requirement entirely.
3. Repack diaper supplies into clear bags: Repack diaper bag essentials into a compliant clear bag rather than assuming a diaper bag exception applies.
4. Bring your SoFi card for free storage: If you’re a SoFi cardholder, bring your card so you can use sofi stadium bag valet storage for free instead of paying the standard fee.
5. Locate your nearest valet station: If bringing something oversized on purpose, plan your route past one of the SW, NW, or NE corner valet locations.
6. Check pre-event emails: Check your event’s Know Before You Go page in case that show has adjusted the standard rules.

Security Check Anxiety Tips

If security lines add stress, arriving with a fully compliant clear bag — or no bag at all — keeps your entry simple and predictable. Knowing that admittance is ultimately at staff discretion can feel unsettling, but a bag that clearly meets the published size and clarity standard is very unlikely to cause an issue. Arriving early gives you time to detour to a bag valet location if needed without feeling rushed.

Day-of Entry Tips From BagPolicyInfo

• Diaper bags aren’t automatically exempt: Pack essentials into a compliant clear bag rather than assuming a diaper bag pass applies.
• SoFi cardholders get free valet storage: Bring your card if you’re checking a non-approved bag.
• Valet locations are at specific corners: SW, NW, and NE corners of the exterior perimeter — know your route before you arrive.
• Rules can vary by event: Check the Know Before You Go information on social media or your pre-event email ahead of time.
• Admittance is discretionary: Even compliant items can be declined by security staff, so pack conservatively if you’re unsure.

Category-Specific Packing Tips

Concertgoers: Check your specific show’s Know Before You Go communication, since bag policy can be adjusted per event.

Parents with infants: Since diaper bags are named in the prohibited list, plan to fit essentials into a compliant clear bag, or use the sofi stadium bag valet if you need to bring a full-size diaper bag.

Fans attending NFL games: For Rams or Chargers games, the policy references the league-wide NFL Clear Bag Policy (NFL.com/allclear), so the core rules should feel familiar if you’ve been to other NFL stadiums.

Conclusion

The SoFi Stadium bag policy is a standard clear-bag setup with one notable catch: diaper bags don’t get an automatic pass the way they do at many other venues. Since rules can shift by event and admittance is ultimately at staff discretion, always confirm the latest details on the official SoFi Stadium Stadium Policies page (sofistadium.com) before you go.
