Official Acrisure Stadium Bag Policy Overview

Acrisure Stadium, working with the NFL, uses a clear bag policy to make security screening faster and more effective. The stadium points out that the acrisure stadium bag policy limits the type and size of bag, not the everyday items you can carry. Keys, makeup, combs, phones, wallets, and credit cards can go in your pockets, and you can still bring blankets and jackets, which will be searched under the official steelers bag policy.

The stadium specifically allows:

Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags: Not exceeding 12″ × 6″ × 12″.
One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags: Ziploc or similar resealable bags.
Small non-clear bags: Not exceeding 4.5″ × 6.5″, with or without a handle or strap.

What Makes This Acrisure Stadium Policy Different

While standard across the NFL, several rules distinguish the acrisure stadium clear bag policy and entry guidelines:

Small clutch limit: The non-clear bag limit is strictly 4.5″ × 6.5″, which is noticeably smaller than the 6″ × 9″ clutch allowed at some concert amphitheaters. Check your bag with a tape measure before leaving.
Style does not matter, size does: Any bag that meets the 4.5″ × 6.5″ acrisure stadium clutch size is permitted regardless of style, whether it is a fanny pack, wristlet, or small cross-body.
Families get two bags per person: Each family member, including young children, can carry an approved clear bag and a clutch purse.
Logo size is capped: Logos printed on clear bags cannot exceed 4.5″ tall by 3.4″ wide.
No-hassle screening at some gates: Certain entry gates use advanced screening walk-through machines where you do not need to remove keys, phones, coats, or bags.

Coolers & Briefcases	Prohibited	Any size	Hard/soft coolers, computer bags, and luggage strictly prohibited.

Clear Bags: Acrisure Stadium Clear Bag Policy Rules

Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags up to 12″ × 6″ × 12″ are allowed under the acrisure stadium clear bag policy. Official NFL team logo clear totes are sold through the Steelers Pro Shop and stadium retail locations. One quirk to know: the Clear Bag Policy page states bags “do not exceed” 12″ × 6″ × 12″, while the Security Guidelines page mentions “smaller than” those dimensions. To be safe, choose a bag with a little room to spare.

One-Gallon Freezer Bags

A one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag, like a Ziploc, is an easy, inexpensive option. It works well for keeping your phone, wallet, keys, and personal items dry and organized through security screening.

Small Clutches and Non-Clear Bags: Acrisure Stadium Clutch Size Rules

Non-clear bags up to the official acrisure stadium clutch size limit of 4.5″ × 6.5″ are allowed, with or without a handle or strap. Any bag that fits within these dimensions is accepted regardless of style, whether you prefer a wristlet, small purse, or compact fanny pack.

Medical, ADA, and Diaper Bags

Medically necessary items are permitted after proper inspection at the entrance gates. Diaper bags containing medically necessary supplies are also allowed after screening. If you have questions about accommodations or special entry procedures, review the stadium’s Disability Services page and Accessibility FAQ prior to arrival.

Family Bags Under the Steelers Bag Policy

Every member of a family, children included, may carry one approved clear bag and one clutch under the official steelers bag policy. This provides plenty of collective space to carry blankets, cold-weather apparel, and kid-friendly essentials.

Prohibited Bags and Items at Acrisure Stadium

Per the stadium’s Security Guidelines, the following items and bag types are strictly barred from the facility:

Any non-clear bag larger than 4.5″ × 6.5″, including purses, handbags, camera or binocular cases, backpacks, fanny packs, briefcases, luggage, and computer bags
Alcoholic beverages
Balls of any kind, including full-size footballs
Cans, coolers of any type, glass bottles, or thermoses
Strollers and seat cushions
Laser pointers
Noisemakers such as whistles, horns, and sirens
Selfie sticks
Single-purpose video cameras, or still cameras with a lens longer than 6″
Banners or signs on poles, and signs with commercial messages, logos, or political endorsements
Apparel or signage displaying profane or abusive language
Battery packs filled with loose AA, C, or D cell batteries
Weapons or any item that may be deemed a projectile
Any other item deemed dangerous or inappropriate by security staff

Anything not permitted must be thrown out or taken back to your vehicle. Acrisure Stadium is not responsible for items left unattended at the gates.

How Security Screening Works

All guests and their belongings are subject to screening upon entry and may be searched on exit under the acrisure stadium bag policy. Guests are asked to arrive early to avoid long queues. Some gates use walk-through screening machines where you do not need to remove personal items from your pockets or bag. Jackets and blankets carried in by hand will be searched, so keep them easy to unfold and show to stadium personnel.

Packing Strategy for Faster Entry

Pick your bag: Decide between a 12″ × 6″ × 12″ clear tote, a 1-gallon freezer bag, or a 4.5″ × 6.5″ clutch.
Measure it: Check the exact dimensions before game day, not at the gate.
Use your pockets: Keys, makeup, combs, phones, wallets, and credit cards can go directly in your pockets.
Remove banned items: Check for footballs, selfie sticks, noisemakers, and thermoses.
Pack food in a clear bag: Any food you bring must be contained in a clear plastic bag.
Handle your drinks: Bring only factory-sealed plastic bottles of water or soft drinks, 24 oz. or less.
Leave prohibited items at home: If an item is questionable under the acrisure stadium bag policy, do not bring it.

Security Check Anxiety Tips

If bag checks stress you out, simplify your routine. A clear tote lets staff inspect everything at a single glance, and a small clutch keeps personal items minimal. Arrive early, have your digital ticket open and ready, and open your bag or jacket without hesitation. Security staff follow standardized NFL procedures designed to keep everyone safe.
