Honda Center Bag Policy | Size Limits for Ducks Games & Concerts

Honda Center enforces one of the strictest bag policies of any major indoor sports and entertainment arena in Southern California. The venue implements two separate dimension limits depending on whether you are attending an NHL hockey game under the anaheim ducks bag policy or attending a concert, family show, or live entertainment event. The official honda center bag policy strictly bans backpacks of all sizes and offers no on-site bag check lockers. Knowing the exact honda center bag size limit before arriving in Anaheim is essential to prevent being turned away at security gates.

Quick Answer: Honda Center Bag Policy at a Glance

Honda Center does not require clear bags, but all bags and clutches must stay within strict dimensional caps: 4″ × 6″ × 1.5″ for Anaheim Ducks games, and 5″ × 9″ × 2″ for concerts and non-Ducks events under the honda center bag policy. Backpacks are strictly prohibited for all events, while medical and diaper bags are accommodated up to 12″ × 12″ × 12″ with additional screening.

How We Check This Policy: Every guide on BagPolicyInfo.com pulls directly from the venue’s official regulations. For Honda Center, our team monitors the dedicated Bag Policy guide, Arena Security notices, and General Building Policies. We verify dimensions against active NHL guidelines and concert tour specifications, updating our records immediately whenever building management adjusts standards. Because entry rules can vary by promoter, we always recommend verifying details on Honda Center’s official site before traveling to Anaheim.

Official Honda Center Bag Policy Overview

Honda Center enforces a stringent, size-restricted bag policy that applies to every ticket holder. The specific allowance depends directly on event classification. For Anaheim Ducks hockey matchups, bags and purses cannot exceed 4 inches by 6 inches by 1.5 inches under the anaheim ducks bag policy, aligning with the NHL’s league-wide security mandate. For all other arena events — including major concert tours, family theatricals, and sporting tournaments — the dimension ceiling expands slightly to 5 inches by 9 inches by 2 inches.

In both scenarios, clear bags are held to the exact same size restrictions as opaque leather or fabric clutches. Every permitted personal item undergoes physical and visual inspection at security turnstiles. Backpacks are banned across all events without exception, and the arena does not maintain luggage check or storage lockers for non-compliant items.

What Makes This Honda Center Policy Different?

Honda Center’s guidelines stand out among major arenas for several distinct reasons:

• Dual Event Limits: Most arenas enforce a uniform standard year-round, whereas Honda Center uses a tighter 4″ × 6″ × 1.5″ limit for Ducks games and a 5″ × 9″ × 2″ cap for non-Ducks entertainment.
• Extremely Tight Threshold: Both size limits are far smaller than the standard 12″ × 12″ × 6″ clear bag models common at football stadiums and outdoor amphitheaters.
• Zero Backpack Tolerance: Unlike some ballparks that permit small backpacks within size dimensions, Honda Center prohibits all backpacks outright.
• No Storage Lockers: With no on-site lockers, guests with oversized bags must return them to their vehicles or forfeit entry.

Allowed Bags and Size Limits Under Honda Center Bag Policy

To help you determine what is permitted into the building, review this side-by-side comparison table under the honda center bag size limit before packing:

Ducks game bags: Bags and small clutches, whether clear or opaque, must measure no larger than 4″ × 6″ × 1.5″ under the official anaheim ducks bag policy.

Non-Ducks event bags: For concerts, family shows, and other non-hockey events, bags and purses can measure up to 5″ × 9″ × 2″, with a maximum limit of one bag per ticketed guest.

Small clutches: Small wallets, wristlets, and clutches are permitted provided they comply with the applicable event size cap.

Medical and diaper bags: For any event, guests requiring bags for medical necessities (prescription drugs, breast pumps, diabetic testing equipment) or infant care essentials may bring a bag up to 12″ × 12″ × 12″, subject to secondary security screening.

Backpacks: Backpacks of any size or construction are prohibited for all events — plan to leave them at home or secured in your car trunk.

Prohibited Bags and Items Under Honda Center Rules

In addition to oversized bags and backpacks, arena security strictly enforces prohibitions on the following items under the honda center bag policy:

• Backpacks: Backpacks of any size, material, or design for all arena events
• Oversized Bags: Any bag exceeding 4″ × 6″ × 1.5″ (Ducks) or 5″ × 9″ × 2″ (concerts)
• Professional Gear Bags: Briefcases, computer cases, and camera bags
• Coolers: Hard-sided, soft-sided, and Styrofoam coolers of any size
• Outside Food & Beverages: Outside food, drinks, and reusable or empty water bottles (medical/infant exceptions apply)
• Weapons & Replicas: Firearms, ammunition, knives, pepper spray, stun guns, toy weapons, and replica firearms
• Optical & Light Devices: Laser pointers, flashlights, glow sticks, and wallet chains
• Party & Disturbance Items: Balloons, beach balls, inflatables, confetti, and streamers
• Noisemakers: Drums, megaphones, whistles, and air horns (cowbells are permitted exclusively for Anaheim Ducks hockey games)
• Mobility & Seating Gear: Hoverboards, skateboards, metal/glass reusable straws, booster seats, and strollers (except suite ticket holders using designated entrances)

How Security Screening Works at Honda Center

All ticket holders pass through security screening stations prior to entering Honda Center gates. Declining a search will result in denied entry. Every permitted purse, clutch, or medical bag is physically and visually inspected by gate security personnel under the honda center bag policy. Because the arena does not offer bag check or holding lockers, any bag exceeding the honda center bag size limit must be walked back to your vehicle or surrendered, so verifying measurements in advance is crucial.

Packing Strategy for Faster Entry

1. Confirm your event type first: Verify whether you are attending a Ducks hockey matchup (4″ × 6″ × 1.5″) or a concert (5″ × 9″ × 2″) before selecting your bag.
2. Measure your bag with a tape measure: 4″ × 6″ × 1.5″ is smaller than most standard wallets; do not guess by eye.
3. Leave all backpacks behind: There is zero tolerance for backpacks, sling bags, or drawstring bags at Honda Center.
4. Keep medical and infant supplies organized: If bringing an exempt bag up to 12″ × 12″ × 12″, pack items in clear internal pouches to expedite secondary screening.
5. Do not bring water bottles: Outside drinks and empty water bottles are prohibited from entering the arena gates.
6. Plan without bag check: Because Honda Center will not store non-compliant bags, only bring essentials that strictly meet building rules.

Security Check Anxiety Tips

Because Honda Center offers no bag check, arriving with plenty of time eliminates the anxiety of having to make a stressful dash back to your parking spot. Keeping your bag contents uncluttered — carrying only phone, keys, cards, and lip balm — allows staff to complete visual inspections in seconds. If you require a medical or childcare accommodation, approaching designated medical screening lanes with items accessible ensures a respectful, smooth entry experience.

Day-of Entry Tips From BagPolicyInfo

• Know your event rules: Ducks games and concerts enforce different limits — avoid assuming one size fits all.
• The 4″ × 6″ × 1.5″ rule is universal: A clutch under these dimensions clears screening for every event hosted at Honda Center.
• No backpacks under any circumstances: Do not risk bringing a small backpack or mini-rucksack.
• Build time for medical inspection: Bags under the 12″ × 12″ × 12″ medical allowance require a separate screening step.
• No fallback lockers: An oversized bag means a return walk to your car, so measure carefully at home.

Category-Specific Packing Tips

Anaheim Ducks attendees: Hockey fans must strictly adhere to the compact 4″ × 6″ × 1.5″ limit under the anaheim ducks bag policy rather than assuming concert allowances apply.

Concertgoers and special event guests: You have slightly more flexibility at 5″ × 9″ × 2″, but backpacks and large purses remain prohibited.

Families with young children: Diaper bags are permitted up to 12″ × 12″ × 12″ when traveling with an infant or toddler. Expect manual inspection at the gate.

Guests with medical requirements: Medical equipment, diabetic kits, and breast pump bags qualify for the 12″ × 12″ × 12″ exemption. Keeping supplies organized expedites secondary review.
